I have always loved the game of golf. As a child I can remember
hitting golf balls in the back yard and catching the "dickens"
from dad for putting a golf ball through the garage window! I
played on the golf team in high school and continued to play after
getting out of college.
After working a number of jobs from radio broadcasting to factory
work, I turned professional in 1982 and have been working in Wisconsin
since that time. I have worked at five different golf clubs and
have been at the Marshfield Country Club since 1995. Prior to
joining the USGTF, I was always either a first or second assistant
professional, spending most, if not all, my time behind the counter
taking in green fees or selling merchandise. In the fall of 2001,
after much frustration in the golf business, I finally became
certified to teach the game. With all due respect, I kissed that
OTHER organization and their broken promises goodbye.
I am now the manager of the Learning Center at the Marshfield
Country Club. In July of 2003, I passed the PAT at the Green Garden
CC in Frankfort, Illinois, to become a Level III member. I plan
on attending the member tournaments and becoming more active in
the USGTF. Words cannot describe how proud I am to be a USGTF
member. My goals have now become reality.
